Inventor’s Blueprint

0

One of the great things about the human mind is it’s constant ability to create through thought, to design, and to build a prototype. The problem that many run into is how to take the step between each of these processes. It starts with generally how to invent, understanding what needs to happen to start the process. Next, how do I make the invention. Where do I go to build this? What resources are out there? This is half the battle for every inventor out there. Sadly most get stuck here and never succeed past it. Where do you go to find invention help?
Our friends at Inventor’s Blueprint have seen the need to help with this issue by creating a guide that will help you take that step into being the creator of your invention from start to finish. They offer a great set of training videos that will prepare you for the road ahead. Please visit them at InventorsBlueprint.com

Oregon Ducks Defeat Nevada 69-20

0

Victory! The Oregon Ducks won their first victory this year. After losing the season opener they were ready to do some damage as they faced off against Nevada and the Wolf Pack. In the end Oregon walked away with a devastating 69-20 victory with Darron Thomas, The Ducks starting Quarterback, tying the school record with six Touchdowns. Four touchdowns were thrown through the air for 295 yards.
It was a great day overall with LaMichael James and the rest of the crew following Thomas in the dismantling of the Nevada team. Oregon’s record is now 1-1 and they will be playing the Missouri State Bears next week in Eugene. Nothing quite like a home game for the Ducks! Quack! Quack!

Bing Cherries and Rainier Cherries: The best of Oregon!

Rainier Cherries

As we get closer and closer to the warmth of Summer I cannot help but get excited for one of my most favorite types of fruit that will be coming into season in late June. What fruit you may ask? CHERRIES! Oregon Cherries are some of the best tasting cherries in the world. Personally my two favorite types of cherries are Bing Cherries and Rainier Cherries. Bing Cherries have a darker red color were first developed and grown right in The Dalles Oregon. They have quickly become a national favorite.

Rainier Cherries tend to have a yellowish color that fades to a blush. Also grown in the Gorge, these cherries are best in early July!
If you are looking to order Cherries this year be sure to visit The Fruit Company where they have a great selection of Cherries to order and have delivered to your doorstep. The Fruit Company owns their own Cherry Orchard so you know you are getting freshly picked fruit that will not only look good but taste good too!

One happy dog!

A Guitar is not just a Guitar: Gibson Dove Guitar

0

Growing up one of the things that I always enjoyed listening to was the guitar.  Whether it was instrumental, Classical, rock, it really didn’t matter. Eventually I convinced my parents that there was definitely a great guitar career ahead of me and all I needed was a guitar and some lessons.  Sadly I never ended up a rock guitarist but I do have a a love for the guitar.  Whether you are just an occasional player or a performer the guitar that I always look to as a great acoustic is the Gibson Dove Guitar.  Made Famous by the King of Rock, Elvis Presley, this Gibson is the essence of perfection and craftsmanship.

Once you play the dove you’ll be hooked.  If you get the chance you wont regret it.  Trust me, the Gibson Dove is something every guitarist needs to play. Enjoy!

Ojolie eCards

What a great time of year.  There is so many things being sent back and forth and the mail systems always get clogged up with packages. One thing that our family uses to help offset that rush is the wonderful idea of animated cards.  I was first introduced to this whole style of sending cards online by my wife several years ago.  Since that time a lot and changed and the quality of cards has gone from pictures to full animation!

Whether you are looking for birthday ecards or cards for holidays be sure to check out one of my favorite sites, Ololie.com, for all your ecard needs in the upcoming year.  They have some great animation and put a fun artistic touch to each card making them all quite unique!

Banksy T-Shirt line

Nothing says classy like a custom t-shirt.  Over the past years there have been some great custom t-shirts that really can turn heads when done right.  I recently have become aware of a great site that offers quite a unique line.  T-shirt.co.uk offers a whole collection of Banksy T-shirts online.  Who is Banksy?

Banksy is a world renowned graffiti artist that has provided some of the great works often revered for his bold creative eye.  Now you can actually wear his work.  This is a great idea for t-shirt design.  I am glad to see this direction being taken.  Keeping art from all forms alive through new avenues is something that we here at Pdxreader.com think is very noble.  If you haven’t already, be sure to Check out the Banksy T-Shirts online here!

Will Coca Nominated for Portland Music Award

0

Exciting news from Portland as Walla Walla Valley native, Will Coca, has been nominated for the Best Male Artist by the Portland Music Awards. Will Coca spent his entire childhood in the Walla Walla Valley. He attended grade school at Davis Elementary. While at Sager Middle School he was first introduced to the world of music performance. Will states that the influence by his music teacher, Mr. Ingersoll, was a “pivotal moment in my life.” He was inspired and learned so much from the leadership and passion that Ingersoll shared for music. Will began playing guitar in high school while attending Walla Walla Valley Academy. It was here that he first took to the stage and discovered the enjoyment and excitement that comes from performing in front of crowds. Will’s senior year found he and his family moving to Portland Oregon where Will continued to thrive in a city known for its music scene. Making new connections and developing both vocally and instrumentally, he set his sights on a passionate sound that was honest and true to the roots that he grew from. His childhood and the place he calls home, Walla Walla, are often referenced is his music specifically the song “Home.” Will Coca’s latest CD entitled, “While the World is Asleep,” can be found on iTunes and is available at several locations in the Portland Area. Following the Portland Music Awards he will be playing several shows in the Northwest and is hoping to add a Walla Walla date to the tour. Be sure to vote at www.portlandmusicawards.com
